Earlier today, the Digital Economy Bill was passed by our ~~pathetic~~ upstanding ~~publishing company lapdogs~~ Members of parliament after ~~ignoring the truth for the sake of more under the table bonuses~~ carefully considering what was best for the country.

Dead duck software does not and never will condone piracy, however it is disgusting that media companies can be given what is essentially free reign to dictate what uk citizens can and cannot access with their internet connections. They are not some sort of secret gestapo (however much they would like to be) and should not be given any more power than any other company has.

Unfortunately we seem to have a bit of a problem with filthy spammers signing up for new accounts and then spamming the news posts and forums. Until we can work out how to prevent this then I have required that new user registrations require activation by an administrator before they can post.

[EDIT]Ok, ive attempted to block the main areas where the spammers have been coming from, so if the frequency of requests decrease over the next few days, user registration will be back to normal

As you may or may not have heard, Firefox 3 is being released on the 17th of June. On this day, The mozilla foundation is trying to set the world record for most downloads in a 24 hour period. Therefore, if you use firefox, remember to go and download it sometime next Tuesday and help them set the world record.

You may have noticed some posts have been removed around the forum. No, we have not started censoring what people say (ok, we always did that, but its an auto censor, and only censors swear words). DDS believes in free speech for all!

anyway, trawling through a forum looking for certain posts to delete is not my idea of fun. i have much better things to do with my time (like annoy Quintus, for example....), so in future, i urge all users to think before they post.

Not new and improved.. just back. It seems the Dead Duck Software domain has been dirtied by filthy, filthy spammers. After receiving a whole heap of "failed delivery" emails from addresses I have never sent email to, I began to get a little worried. So, I decided to close down DDS until I could figure out how to solve the problem (or at least figure out if a simple mailer was to blame.)

After a quick chat with the good folks over at BlackFoot Hosting, it looks like that there isn't a lot I (nor BlackFoot Hosting) can do about it. So if you receive unsolicited junk mail from this domain - I apologise.

Also, I would like to declare my personal vendetta against spammers, which I dub "The War on Spam". Not really. I'm too lazy @_@

...was cancelled. Due to Gizmo not showing up. At 8pm we decided to have a fun game. With strider dominating, And PeterTM proving that he really is the worst ut2004 player in the universe.

Not sure about the state of next weeks game. Im considering a change of the scoring system to individuals instead of teams.

Any thoughts.
